Unit for Business, Innovation and Markets, Ministry of Climate and Enterprise

The Unit for Business, Innovation and Markets works with issues and initiatives aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the business sector, focusing on framework conditions for and promotion of entrepreneurship and business, innovation and renewal, as well as well-functioning markets. The unit is responsible for handling state aid issues within the Government Offices and towards the EU Commission. The unit's activities should contribute to enabling companies to develop, grow, and employ more people throughout Sweden and strengthen Swedish competitiveness. The unit is organized into three groups, where group 2 handles issues related to simplification for businesses, business promotion, and skills supply.

The Unit for Business, Innovation and Markets is now seeking a new employee in the governance area. You will be part of the team working on the governance of the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, focusing on issues related to preparedness concerning the agency's mission and business development. You will work on developing good agency governance and effective budget management in a unit with approximately 40 employees.

Your role includes planning, implementing, and following up on work towards set goals, preparing cases, and producing materials based on requests from political leadership. The work also includes engaging in dialogue with authorities, businesses, committees, and other stakeholders.

The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth has a broad mandate that covers several expenditure areas. As part of the team around the agency, your work will thus touch on issues in several areas, such as promoting the competitiveness of the business sector, fostering sustainable regional development and rural development, and implementing parts of the European cohesion policy. The agency also works with the government's simplification policy and is the sector-responsible preparedness authority.

Since the unit's area of responsibility is very broad, you will assist and contribute to the unit's other areas of responsibility as needed.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with an academic degree relevant to the assignment, such as political science, law, or economics. You have several years of experience working in public administration and experience leading projects with complex issues involving multiple stakeholders. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of the Office suite and preferably also good knowledge of the economic administrative regulations for state operations.

It is advantageous if you have experience in state governance, budget processes, or preparedness issues, as well as work in the Government Offices.

You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
